Description

Please join the California Elder Justice Coalition (CEJC), San Francisco’s Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS), and the Institute on Aging (IOA) for a statewide commemoration of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Program:

4:00-5:00 PM Networking Reception. Hosted wine and hors d'oeuvres provided.

5:00-6:00 PM Keynote Speaker and Awards Presentation

Keynote Speaker:

  • Dave Jones, CA Insurance Commissioner. As California's Insurance Commissioner and a former Assembly member, Mr. Jones has been a champion for older Californians through his initiatives on veterans pension scams, health care provider fraud, annuities fraud, and conservatorship reform.

Master of Ceremonies:

  • Paul Henderson, Deputy Chief of Staff, San Francisco Mayor’s Office & Director of Public Safety

Awards Presentations:

  • The California Elder Justice Champion Award: The Archstone Foundation
  • The Tristan Svare Lifetime Legacy Award: Accepted by Eve Wang
  • Media Appreciation Award: Marjie Lundstrom, Sacramento Bee and Paul Kleyman, New America Media
